Insurance Coverage
Insurance coverage for fertility treatment depends on your specific insurance plan. Over 75% of our patients have partial or full coverage for fertility treatment. Typically, 95% of patients have insurance coverage that covers initial consultations. Preliminary diagnostic testing such as blood work and ultrasounds are often covered as well.
Some plans cover a wide range of fertility treatments, including IUI (intrauterine insemination), IVF (in vitro fertilization) and egg freezing, while others only cover certain types of treatments. Some insurance plans do not cover diagnostic evaluation or for fertility treatments beyond diagnostic testing.
That is why it is so important to check with your insurance company before moving forward with a fertility treatment plan, and why we offer financial consultations to determine your exact insurance coverage and benefits before providing you with estimated costs for your fertility treatment. For those with plans including high deductibles and co-insurance obligations, this can only be a general estimate.
Additionally, we strongly advise all of our patients to double check their own insurance coverage and benefits as well. We will provide you with all the relevant billable procedure codes so that you can get the most accurate information from your insurance company. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to understand your coverage and benefits and what you will need to pay out of pocket for fertility services.
