Financial Consultations
As our patient, we invite you to schedule a financial consultation with us to get a complete understanding of your insurance coverage and other financial considerations related to your fertility care.
What Happens During a Financial Consultation?
After you complete your initial visit and diagnostic testing (if applicable), we contact your health insurance company to verify the fertility treatment insurance benefits covered by your plan. This allows us to clarify the coverage you have for the specific fertility treatment options you are considering. Additionally, we’ll determine what you’ve already paid toward your annual deductible and what copays you can expect from office visits.
We then schedule a financial consultation, either in-person or by video conference or phone, to review the information we have collected with you. During the appointment, we’ll be able to discuss what services would and would not be covered. We’ll also estimate any out of pocket costs you may incur and discuss other financial tools and services that are available to you.
For example, if you do not have medication coverage under your insurance plan, we may recommend applying for specific medication discount programs. Or if we expect a certain amount of out of pocket costs, we’ll review financing programs which would allow you to pay these costs over a number of months or years.
Confirming Your Coverage
At the end of your financial consultation, we will provide you with all the relevant billable procedure codes so that you can double check your coverage and benefits with your insurance carrier to make sure it aligns with the information we received. Having these billable procedure codes will ensure that you get the most accurate information from your insurance company. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to understand your coverage and benefits and what you will need to pay out of pocket for fertility services.
